The mackerel tabby layed down in his nest, he had been anticipating a battle with OceanClan for a long time. He wondered how it would go when Dovestar called it. He had not been called on patrol with Maplewing and Sparrowclaw so he stayed curled in the Warrior's den to sleep the day away. He would go hunting soon enough, even though the fresh-kill pile was fuller than ever. Birds migrated here a lot during leaf-bare, and it made perfect hunting conditions.

"Dustfeather, let's go. Dovestar is leading the patrol to OceanClan now, we are fighting with FireClan against OceanClan." She mewed firmly and dashed away.

Maplewing shifted in her nest, her ears flicking with boredom. She wished not to stay for the rest of the meeting, whatever Dovestar planned to say, the she-cat did not wish to hear.

Tailfeather stopped at the entrance to the den and snapped in his irritable tone "maplewiing stop your moping! your leg wont get stronger with staying in your nest all day. come with me to the oceanclan border, for a patrol and i need some help finding herbs". the medicine cats Green eyes betrayed his sharp tongue. he regarded maplewing as a friend. one of the few he had.

"Sure, let's go." She meowed, and got up. She limped awkwardly out of the Warrior's Den and led the way to the camp entrance. She had not been to the OceanClan border since the fight. What would be waiting there?

The medicine cat stood and smiled faintly with approval. as always his sharp tongue generally motivated other cats to get their hineys out of lazing. he lashed his tail and trotted afterher. his norwegian forestcat pelt as always was very well groomed.
