Training Sand

GraveClan cats commonly train here to adjust to the sand. The first week paws bleed, but it is a way of adjusting.

The ginger she-cat padded calmly into the clearing, she was waiting for her patrol to show up. Hopefully, Brackenstar would scent her trail along with her apprentice's. The warrior wanted him to see Goosepaw's improvement, and maybe even say it was time to make him a warrior. Since that border attack with FireClan when the mottled tom first became an apprentice, he was having trouble with his training. He'd been declared blind in his right eye, so Heathercloud had to find an alternative to his battle skills and hunting techniques.

"Where is that scrap?" She hissed under her breath as she paced in the course sand. Her pads were hard and adapted to the training ground, her apprentice as well was used to the terrain. Only a while longer until she was relieved of having to watch the muddy-furred bundle.

Goosepaw sprinted after Heathercloud and into the clearing. He had stopped to hunt when the scent of an adder filled his nares. His banner waved behind him as he strolled up to his mentor and dropped the prey at her feet. "Wanna share after our lesson?" He mewed, his pillars shifting from side to side in a swaying motion.

The ginger she-cat flicked her ears in contempt as the old, but naive, apprentice caught up with her. Sadly, the warrior had no idea that Brackenstar had died in camp only a few moments ago and that Eaglefur had ventured to the moonpool to recieve his leader name. "Yeah." Heathercloud said, and without warning flung herself at her apprentice.

Goosepaw did not expect Heathercloud's sudden attack, so he could not leap out of the way in time to feel his mentor's weight land on his back and knock him to the ground. The mud-colored tom let out a huff as the breath was knocked from him. The apprentice immediately kicked up with his hind legs, propelling them upward to push Heathercloud across the sand.

Heathercloud screeched a pseudo battle cry as she pushed the Maine Coon tom to the ground. She was about to bat the side of Goosepaw's head for punishment of not being able to dodge her attack, but was cut short when his paws flung her off. The ginger she-cat skidded in the sand, but was up to her paws in moments, darting her green eyes toward Goosepaw to await his next move.

Eaglestar padded down the slope and admired Goosepaw's strenght as he watched the apprentice defend himself against Heathercloud. "C'mon, back to camp. We have a new warrior, his name is Snakeheart. You're next Goosepaw." He turned and headed back.

The brown apprentice looked up as he saw Eaglestar and a smile slid across his face as he heard he was going to become a warrior that very day. He bounded off after the tabby without one look at Heathercloud.

Heathercloud's chest filled with pride as Eaglestar came bounding up, notifying her that Goosepaw was to become a warrior. The little scamp was finally ready at last. "Wait up scamp." She mewed and followed.

The ashen tom bounded into a crowfood smelling land, his nose wrinkled in distaste. What an awful scent. He didn't exactly want to stay here, but he might as well rest a bit from his run. Owl slumped slowly to the sand, his hard pads taking no notice of the small particles.

Goosetail emerged from a few stalks of bracken and froze when he saw a gray tom lying in the snow. He was not familiar with this cat, and knew immediately that chasing him off would both help his battle practice and his warrior duties. "Get off GraveClan land." The brown Maine Coon spat before running toward the cat.

Obsidianshard appeared and unsheathed her claws, she reared up and slammed her paw toward the mainecoon her paw aiming for his blind eye. she didnt know why she was protecting the loner. all she knew was that it wasnt fair to attack a rouge without provocation.

Eaglestar leapt into the clearing when he heard Goosetail's screech. The tabby Clan Leader had been passing through and he was amazing to see a loner, and a FireClan warrior before him. He quickly ran to his warrior's aid and thrust hard into the black she-cat's side. "How dare you come alone into my territory and attack my warriors." He spat. "FireClan will pay. You have just brought war to your Clan, Obsidianshard."

Goosetail yowled in surprise as Eaglestar came to his protection. The brown furred warrior turned to see his attacker and snarled when he realized it was FireClan. He came up behind his leader and stared down at Obsidianshard, pleased to hear Eaglestar's sentence of FireClan for trespassing.

Owl sprang to his paws and bolted away toward the brush, hoping his first attacker was too occupied with the other intruder to worry about him. His ashen fur went like a blurr through the ferns until he was out of sight.

She lashed her tail as she watched them with dismay in her eyes, Her golden eyes glittered with upset. she lowered her head and turned saying "dont bring war to fireclan... please, ill let you attack me but please... dont hurt my clan" her eyes were pleading.

seeing them not attacking her she whirled adn ran off, however she tripped and fell down landing flat on her face. not getting back up she curled up. her body aching, it wouldnt matter if she died she thought to herself. Flameclaw didnt love her, he loved Sootflower. everyone had always prefered the black deputy. She glanced back at eaglestar and Goosetail "just kill me already!" she yowled, "save everyone else the trouble of having to deal with me"

Yukistar padded in to Obsidianshard's side. "Well, sorry for stepping into your land, But there was a rogue on ours so we had to chase it off."she said. Yuki stood still, her piercing blue eyes gazed into Eaglestar's. "Your clan has abused this one cat enough."she said and put her head under Obsidianshard's back. She carried the cats body and walked off, only to stop for a minute. "You should check on your warriors as well."she said and padded off.

Eaglestar stood still, and hissed furiously after Yukistar spoke. He had no patience left for FireClan. His mottled tabby coat was bristled and his tail lashed back and forth behind him. "Stay in your own borders, or I won't hesitate to attack." He yowled, narrowing his eyes after them.

"Goosetail, go back to camp and check with Peachwhisker. I want to make sure that you're not sore or injured. I'll go around and check the border with FireClan. I think Snakeheart and Heathercloud are there."

Goosetail nodded, his eyes firm as Yukistar and Obsidianshard limped away. His brown fur settled and he turned around, heading for the ferns that led to the GraveClan camp. His mind was on its last straw, why couldn't FireClan stick to the Warrior Code and behave within the forest? Were they that dumbfounded?
