Sitting on the sand the black pawed medicine wolf stared out toward the ocean, she wondered when the next gathering would be and shifted her paws anxiously. her ears flicked back, she had only recently been accepted as starclan and when she had returned everyone was dead. she had gone by herself because her mentor Shyfawn had felt sick, she had been suck at the moonstone for two days. flicking her black tail she lowered her head unable to deal with the thought of her dead mentor and clanmates.

The apprentice sighed, he did have swift paws didn't he? Cedarpaw had arrived first at the sandy line, the sun was still rising into its highest point and he felt the warmth beat into his fur. OceanClan definitely experienced the hottest of any weather, as how SkyClan experienced the coldest due to their Mountain range.

Squirrelpaw fell in line beside her brother, shocked that she actually beat him. She sighed and padded up to him. "Wow, you're fast." The apprentice looked around, seeing the ocean out in front of her. The water was calm that morning, at a high tide. She felt the warm water lapping at her paws.

When Owlthroat arrived, he smiled and waited for the apprentices to recover from the run. He had never been an apprentice, but he remembered being a loner at their age. It was tough stuff out all alone. "Okay, Squirrelpaw, show me the moves that Creekfeather has already taught you."

Cedarpaw sat back, giving both the cats enough room to sparr freely. The toyger looked around, disinterested for a few moments before snapping back to his sister. What would she do? And would he learn anything from her? She had told him that Creekfeather, unknown to him that the cat was now Creekstar, had taught her plenty of moves.

Squirrelpaw smiled then ran toward Owlthroat's right side, her speed not as fast as she could go. The ginger she-cat was still a blur, and she whipped out for him on his right cheek, then veered the left with her full speed and attempted to ram her shoulder into the large ashen tom, and send him flying.

The ashen tom watched the apprentice, surprised in her swiftness. But he'd seen how fast she could run, so he knew she was holding back for something. He felt the paw impact on his face. It was a hard blow, and it stung, but he was glad her claws were sheathed. Owlthroat imediately swung backwards, knowing she was going to do something again, only to barely miss her shoulder blow.

The warrior was soon on her again, he leapt forward, zig zagging as he ran and was going to us brute force to pin her to the soft sand. HE screwd up his nose as he realized itwas raining, but kept running. She needed to learn what to do in a situation where she was pinned by a larger target.

Cedarpaw watched in amazement, his sister had learned so much already. That was insane, and look at Owlthroat? Taking note of everything, the apprentice was on end as he watched the two psuedo-battle. The fur prickled with excitement as he witnessed each move. The toyger glanced around, what was Squirrelpaw going to do?

Squirrelpaw twisted around in a rush. But everything flew by quickly and it was too late. She felt herself being pinned to the ground by Owlthroat. The breath was knocked from her, but not for a second did she give up the fight. She struggled underneath his grasp, lashing her ginger tail with fury. Her energy was escaping with her constant thrashing and she soon relaxed, gasping heavily from effort.

"When you're pinned, you must struggled for just a plain second and then relax." Owlthroat said, grinning down at the she-cat. "The will loosen their grip thinking that you're defeated. And in that moment," He paused, creating an emphasis, "you leap forward in a burst of energy and get them off guard." The ashen tom moved away from Squirrelpaw slightly and glanced at Cedarpaw, as if welcoming him to comment or ask a question before the two resuming the spar.

Kestrelpaw boundeed into the soft and warm sand. The sun was well above their heads, and ebat down hard on his thick pelt. The Medicine Cat tom admried the way the ocean looked on a day like this, and soon, he called to the three further down the beach. "Come back to camp! Lilystar is dead, and Creekstar has already traveled to the Moonpool and back." He paused, glancing at his sister. "Owlthroat has just been named deputy."

Ashpaw listened from a bush, his ears flattened. "Lilystar's dead?" He whispered. The tom had faith in his new leader, but he wasn't ready to head back to camp yet. Instead, he went deeper into the bushes to think over hwta he just heard. Finally, he followed them back to camp. -Camp

Cedarpaw gaped when he heard his brother. "What?" He called in a frantic hiss and bolted away toward the Medicine Cat apprentice. The toyger tom caught to his sibling, his eyes worried. "What happened? Why didn't soemone fetch us earlier?" The apprentice whirled around and ran through the ferns toward camp.

The ginger she-cat listened to her brother's mentor intently, and as he released her, she was about to spring up. But when her best friend, and brother, Kestrelpaw appeared, she stopped. Squirrelpaw's ears went flat at his words and she watched as her brothers bolted away. 'Mother's dead? That means... Creekstar is leader...' She hissed furiously. That tom was going to kill OceanClan.

The tom stopped dead and looked at the disappearing cats. She was dead? The ashen tom couldn't believe what he'd just heard. His mate was dead, she was dead. He shuddered and padded slowly onward. Half of him wanted to drown, the other wanted to find out if this was actually happening, then go and drown.
